Call for Art     Juried Exhibition

Pyro Gallery invites Kentuckiana artists (18 years and older) to submit art work in the following 2D and 3D media; drawing, painting, printing, mixed media, sculpture, clay, and photography (no film, video, installation, giclee or computer generated artwork accepted).

Artists are asked to submit work, not previously shown in Louisville, reflecting the theme, The Human Condition 2012.  The human condition encompasses the experiences of being human in a social, cultural and personal context including both positive and negative aspects of existence.

Pyro Gallery is located in Louisville’s museum row in the Main Street District and less than one block from the nationally acclaimed 21C Museum Hotel. Pyro boasts a beautiful show space and has a mailing list of over 1500 names.   For information please contact –


April 2, 2012, Final deadline to receive entries

May 1, 2012, Notifications mailed or emailed to artists

June 30, 2012, 11am-5pm and July 1, 11am-3pm, hand delivery of art work (no shipping of art work)

July 5 – August 19, 2012, Exhibition Dates

July 6, 2012, 6pm to 9pm, Artist Reception      

August 3, 2012, Additional First Friday Trolley Hop and Reception

August 19, 2012 3pm-5pm, removal of unsold art work

Entry Fee $35. for one to two digital images

Call to Artist’s: Let’s Celebrate Women’s History!

Celebrating Women’s History Month of March by collecting artist’s visual renditions of female inventors. 

  • Artwork must represent a female inventor along with a descriptive statement.
  • Diversity of inventions, inventors and media are encouraged.                     

Check out to inspire the inventor you will represent.

All artwork will contribute to a silent auction and proceeds will be donated to The Center for Women and Families. The show will take place March 28, 2012 at Romano Mazzoli Federal Building. 

Call for Art: DECCA

is a new restaurant and art space on East Market Street in downtown Louisville, Kentucky, opening this spring. We are inviting artists in the area and beyond to submit work to be displayed in our second floor dining area and gallery. We accept entries in all media, and have wall space for two-dimensional art, as well as areas for sculpture, video, and installation. Decca’s permanent collection features local artists working in painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, and ceramics. Please include ten to twelve images, a cv, and a brief artist statement and proposal for how you’d like to display your work in our space. we look forward to hearing from you.
