Grant Seeking Workshop – Find Funding for your Organization

RSVP is required, but the workshop is free and open to the public
The Community Arts Program at Hanover College
In Regional Arts Partnership with the Indiana Arts Commission
On behalf of the people of Indiana, the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) advocates engagement with the arts to enrich the quality of individual and community life. The Community Arts Program at Hanover College brings arts and cultural opportunities to southeastern Indiana with student and professional performances and exhibits on the historic Hanover College campus.
Serving Clark, Floyd, Harrison, Jefferson, Scott, & Washington Counties
As government funding for the arts shrinks and foundations receive more funding applications, it’s more important than ever to prepare competitive grant packages.
This day-long workshop will cover where to seek funding in our Region for arts-related activities how to figure out what a funder “really wants” how to prepare a budget and a project assessment that sets you up for additional funding how to write a persuasive narrative that gets the funder as excited as you are about your project
Three opportunities; three locations:
May 23rd—Hanover College in Jefferson County
June 6th—Arts Council of Southern Indiana in Floyd County
August 23rd—Arts Council of Southern Indiana
The workshop will be conducted by Geoffrey Weiss, Grants Development Officer for the Rivers Institute at Hanover College. Dr. Weiss has over ten years experience teaching grant writing with the University of Kentucky Medical School and was most recently the recipient of a National Endowment for the Humanities Picturing America School Collaboration grant.
The Regional Arts Partnership is made possible by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities
The Indiana Arts Commission and the Community Arts Program at Hanover College is sponsoring a series of workshops for Region 12 artists and arts organizations.
Grant Seeking Workshop—Find Funding for Your Arts Organization
Region 12 seeks volunteers to serve on our Regional Advisory Committee. Help set the direction of the arts in southeastern Indiana.

The mission of the Kentucky Foundation for Women is to promote positive social change by supporting varied feminist expression in the arts. When women and girls advance, so does Kentucky.

KFW carries out this mission through:

Two Grant Programs: Each year the Foundation awards $200,000 to feminist artists and social change organizations in Kentucky through two grant programs: Artist Enrichment and Art Meets Activism.

Residencies and Retreats for women and girls: Hopscotch House Retreat and Residency Center is a KFW program that serves women and girls in Kentucky by providing a supportive setting for feminist artists and activists to create, connect, and convene.

The KFW Hot Flash: E-News for Everyone: Weekly and Special Edition emails include announcements, opportunities, and action steps.

Creating and sharing resources about feminism and social change: Check out the KFW Feminist Timeline. Have fun taking the Women’s History Quiz to test your knowledge. If you don’t know all the answers, don’t worry, see the Answers to the Women’s History Quiz, and learn more about our foremothers. If you visit Hopscotch House, be sure to spend time in the Library there, which offers a wide variety of websites, books, articles, and artwork on feminism and activism.

Although KFW focuses on Kentucky, you can participate in feminist art and social change wherever you live!
